“January through May, 2010 will offer many district planned events such as; Scout-O-Ramas, Sports-O-Rees, Spring Camporees, February 7th Scout Sunday Observances, February 8th Anniversary Day Celebrations, District Recognition Dinners, Pinewood Derbies, Raingutter Regattas, Merit Badge Colleges, Special Community / Chartered Organization Thank You Events and much more.

During the summer there will be several activities to participate in, as well as attending camp. The “Adventure Base 100” program on June 18/20 during the Freedom Festival in Cedar Rapids, the July 10th Camp Staff Reunion at the Winnebago Scout Reservation and on July 16th at Camp Ingawanis.

The fall will kick-off with the council-wide *District Fall Camporees* on August 27/29th at very public locations in our 17-county area. The *Camp-to-Camp Bike Ride* will take place on Saturday, September 25th leaving from W.S.R. and traveling south to Ingawanis. Overnight stays may be arranged at W.S.R. on the 24/25th and at Ingawanis on the 25/26th. This event is open to all bicycling enthusiasts. On October 1/3rd we invite all participants or staffers from either National or World Jamborees to descend on Camp Ingawanis for the *Jamboree Reunion* weekend of memorabilia sharing and renewing of friendships. This event will be an open-ended participant weekend (attend for the day, an overnight or the whole weekend). Calling All “Critters” to the *Wood Badge Reunion* weekend at the Winnebago Scout Reservation on the weekend of November 5/7th to return to Gilwell and share B-P’s pledge to “Every Scout Deserves a Trained Leader” commitment. Bring those kudu’s and other patrol items to share. Don’t miss out on the Saturday evening “Feast’ potluck extravaganza. Bring your tent or make arrangements to shack-up in one of the WSR cabins.

***Each of these Fall Events will have a pre-registration form available later in the springtime and on the council website.***

One of the most important elements of our 100th Anniversary Celebrations will be what each Cub Scout Pack, Boy Scout Troop, Varsity Scout Team, Venture Crew Sea Scout Ship and Explorer Post plan, organize and implement in their own communities. No citizen should be unaffected by the activities that Scouting will be sharing during our 100th Anniversary Celebration.

The National Council, Boy Scouts of America will also have a prominent place in the public eye with many media releases and nation-wide events happening year long --- check the website for updates and ‘get-in-the-know’ and experience the Journey into the next century of Scouting.
