January 28 Polar Bear Postponed to February 25
The January 28 Polar Bear is being postponed until February 25th due to lack of snow and warmer than normal temperatures.
All Packs signed up for this event will automatically be registered for the February 25th date. If you are unable to make that date, please contact the office to make arrangements for a refund. 319-234-2867.
We will hope for snow for the February 25th Polar Bear date! If not, we will make sure that there are alternative snow-free activities that everyone can enjoy.
Hello Cub Scout Families,
Regrettably, our Iowa winter is throwing a curve ball both this week and next week with uncharacteristically warm temperatures. This will make it near impossible to hold our Polar Bear next Saturday on January 28th. Looking out for the safety of your Scouts and also the ability for us to deliver our program, we will be postponing this event until the February 25th date.
Poor Desmond, our Polar Bear, is very sad that he doesn’t have enough snow to go sledding – he told me it was so warm that he thought it might be a good day for a swim! I told him that it might be good for a Polar Bear, but it is way too cold for me!
What does that mean for you? If you have already registered online and paid, your registration is automatically going to be good for the February 25th date. The February 25th registration is open until the 17th for more Scouts to register, if other Scouts from your pack are now available to go with you. If there is no snow on February 25th (unlikely) then we will have alternative activities planned and announced which were not available next weekend.
IF the alternative date does not work for your Scouts, please call the Scout Office at 319-234-2867
I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.
Yours in Scouting,
