Winter Camping Opportunities at Ingawanis Adventure Base
Snowy Owl is an adventure for Boy Scouts and Venturing Scouts
Snowy Owl is a great opportunity to learn tips for cold weather camping. You even have a chance to earn your Red Flannel along with some requirements for Wilderness Survival.
Saturday activities will include: building an outdoor shelter from materials in nature, Dutch oven cooking, a service project, and a black powder shoot in the afternoon.
Check in will be Friday at 7 p.m. January 20th in the Lorsung Center and the final departure will be Sunday at 10 a.m. January 22nd.
Klondike Derby is a sled race to test your Scoutcraft skills. This is an event for Webelos Scouts and Boy Scouts.
Klondike Derby consists of several stations where patrols/units must test their Scoutcraft skills and their leadership abilities, earning points towards a total score. Often, one of more races are included while the Scouts navigate between stations.
The unit must transport their gear on a homemade sled pulled by the Scouts. Districts may have specific guidelines for the construction of sleds.
