National Scout Jamboree 2010

Winnebago Council Jamboree Leaders

Some are seasoned scouters. Some are newer to boy scouting. Some have been to Jamboree. Others, well, this will be their first time.

All are great with the boys. All are about team building and teamwork. And all are ready to help create one of the boys’ most memorable scouting experiences of their lives. Meet your Jamboree 2010 Scoutmaster group.

“For 2010, we looked for leaders who will emphasize teamwork amongst the Scoutmaster group, teambuilding within the Jamboree troops, and camaraderie and esprit de corps throughout the Council. These are people who are positive influences in our lives and they seem to see the glass as always full,” said Jamboree co-chairs Jim O’Connor and Kathy Calhoun. “We wanted some new people involved and we wanted some who’ve experienced Jamboree before, so we would have a nice mix of personalities and ideas.”

Most in this scoutmaster group are Wood Badge trained, and have been active with their Packs, their Troops and District and Council activities. “These people don’t hesitate to help out where needed. They are blessed with common sense and wisdom to help boys grow with their experiences,” according to O’Connor and Calhoun.

“We believe we have a great group of scoutmasters who will deliver a wonderful experience for your sons and your scouts. They have the knowledge and the experience to do what’s right. We are extremely pleased they have accepted the Scoutmaster positions,” said O’Connor and Calhoun.
